A foil card shader I made for the Foil Trading Card challenge by Harry Alisavakis on Twitter, in April 2021. The challenge was to make a shader that would recreate the shiny feel of a “foil” trading card, that is one of those rare one that change colour as you turn them. Here is what my entry looks like:
The model comes from the open source game Chop Chop, and is using the custom toon shader that I worked on for the project. Other than that, card shader and lights setup are mine.
I shared the whole project in this repository. The scene is provided as-is, just for the purpose of exploring and learning.
